Genre scenes

This collection of genre scenes brings together original works observing everyday life: trades, popular customs, interiors, celebrations, markets and human relationships. Artists from different periods and backgrounds preserve gestures, settings and ways of life in visual form. Figurative painting and drawing predominate, with particular attention to narrative detail and atmosphere.
