A time capsule of 1980s Catalan graphic humor. This original ink drawing captures the festive atmosphere of the era with great skill and wit, using local customs and an underground comic aesthetic to immortalize a private event in the center of Barcelona.

The work is an excellent example of the craft of the ninotaire, or satirical cartoonist, in Catalonia during the Transition and the 1980s. Explicitly dated June 13, 1985, and set at Carrer Diputació 378 in Barcelona, the scene recreates a wedding event treated as if it were a major national news story.

The anonymous author displays an absolute command of "ligne claire" and choral caricature. The composition is packed with visual and textual gags in Catalan: from neighbors gossiping on balconies to a mobile broadcast unit from the newly founded TV3 (inaugurated just a couple of years earlier) covering the exit of the "heroes." The dialogue in the speech bubbles reflects the slang and irreverence typical of the satirical magazines of the time, addressing the marriage with irony. In the lower left corner, handwritten signatures (Estruch, Isabel, Eulalia...) are grouped together, belonging to "La Penya," the group of friends or colleagues who commissioned and gifted this illustration.
