Figures and space
In this 1988 composition, Jordi Samsó places schematic forms in a central band against a field of blue and grey. Dark outlines define the figures without fully separating them from the ground, which is crossed by brushstrokes and overlapping areas of colour.
Lines and translucent layers
The drawing combines angular profiles and curved forms. Some figures are clearly recognisable, while others merge with the patches of colour in the background, leaving the composition open between representation and abstraction.
On the left, an elongated figure in profile is built from angular lines and pale areas that contrast with the blue background.
Across the centre and right, the forms follow one another with fine outlines, circular heads and vertical strokes that connect the figures.
Blues dominate the surface, combined with greens, greys and small pink accents. The freer brushwork of the background contrasts with the linear drawing of the figures and adds variations in texture and depth.
