However, the work is far from a complacent pamphlet; it is a tremendously audacious satirical staging. To the left, the artist groups a compact block representing the dominant classes or the "powers that be." These six characters are depicted with an almost grotesque and theatrical opulence: wrapped in fur coats so dense they resemble armor, and adorned with an eclectic variety of historical and bourgeois hats. Their faces oscillate between complacency, mockery, and haughtiness, celebrating the restored order.

The narrative tension: the scrutiny of power

Oliver's narrative genius explodes in contrast with the figure on the right. Breaking the group's effervescence, a young woman dressed in a simple primary-colored dress stands before them. The poignant detail that takes the viewer's breath away is her vulnerability: she is completely barefoot.

The young woman does not stare into space; she firmly holds the gaze of the man in the opulent red coat and yellow collar, who extends his hand to lift her chin in a gesture of superiority and scrutiny. Is it an allegory of defeated Spain evaluated by the victors? Is it the personification of real scarcity in the face of excessive luxury? This tension, crowned by the ironic and subtle pencil drawing of a smiling sun in the left sky, elevates the print to the category of a veiled sociopolitical chronicle.
