A quiet street in Cadaqués, with its whitewashed facades, terracotta roofs, and wooden shutters, takes center stage in this original watercolor by the Catalan painter Santi Aulet i Roma (Tona, 1947–2025).

The composition leads the eye from the houses in the foreground to the church rising above the rooftops. The transparency of the watercolor, the green and violet shades of the walls, and the small reddish touches of the flowers convey the light characteristic of Mediterranean architecture.

Santi Aulet developed an extensive career dedicated primarily to landscapes and watercolor painting. A self-taught artist, he began exhibiting in 1971 and dedicated himself professionally to painting from 1978 onwards. His work, closely linked to the landscapes of Catalonia, received numerous accolades, including the Premi Mil·liari (2010) and his appointment as a favorite son of Tona (2019).

The work retains the artist’s stamp on the reverse, with his former professional address in Tona and the handwritten identification "Cadaqués," a documentary testament to his pictorial activity.
